Laitse Graniitvilla

Arrival at the festival

The Estonian Tantra Festival takes place in Laitse Graniitvilla, located in Harjumaa, Saue parish, only 35 km from the center of Tallinn.

The festival area is open on Thursday from 2 p.m. It is possible to come to the festival by public transport (bus, train) or by private car. For foreign guests who come by plane, the nearest airport is Tallinn Airport

You can come to the festival by car. Granitvilla’s distance from major Estonian cities: Tallinn 35km, Tartu 200km, Pärnu 127km, Narva 250km, Viljandi 155km.

When coming by car, we encourage You to share the ride with other festival guests. A week before the festival we put up a ride sharing table. Driving from the center of Tallinn takes about 40 minutes. To get to Granitvilla, use the Google Maps link here. At the festival, You can park your car a in a grassy parking lot approximately 150m away. Sleeping is not allowed in the parking lot, there is a camping area for overnight stays and there is a separate caravan area for caravans.

Coming from Tallinn, it is also possible to come by taxi, Uber or Bolt, because the festival site is only 35 km away. Both Uber and Bolt are cheaper than a taxi, the fare depends on the time of the ride, but is approximately 40-60 euros. As a rule, You can also pay by card. You probably won’t be able to get back to Tallinn by taxi, Bolt or Uber, but there will probably be good people at the festival who will help You to the city. At the festival, a stand for ride sharing ads is open.

You can get to Laitse from Tallinn by public bus:

– Bus no. 119 (travel time 1h 9min) starting from Viru, get off at the stop “Laitse tee” and walk 300m

– Bus no. 234 (travel time 1h 28min) starting from Tallinn Bus station, get off at “Laitse tee” and walk 300m.

There is also a train stop about 5 km from Graniitvilla. An electric train (TallinnTurba) runs from Tallinn to the Laitse stop, journey time 49 minutes, get off at the “Laitse” stop.

See www.elron.ee for more details, You can buy a ticket on the train or online.

Attention! It is 4.8 km from Laitse station to the festival, and You probably won’t find a taxi at Laitse station. So You will have the chance for a longer walk.

Camping, parking, drinking water and washing

The camping area for festival guests is right next to the rest of the festival site. Since a large number of guests want to camp, the tents must be placed relatively close to each other (maximum distance 1.5 m). There are no good groves nearby to escape from the general camping area. You cannot get to the camping area by car.

The use of large Glamping tents, without prior agreement with the organisers, is not allowed, as they take up a lot of space. If You wish to use a glamping tent, please contact kristiina@tantrafest.ee, the minimum number of people in a glamping tent is 6-8 people.

It is possible to come to the festival with a car or caravan, but please note that the space for the cottages is limited, and if the space intended for this purpose is full, You must set up your cottage on the side of the road a little further from the venue. The organiser is not able to provide the cottages with electricity. Please take into account, that arriving and leaving the cottage can be a time-consuming procedure in terms of logistics, as You can only manoeuvre when the tents and other things are removed from the front.

Canning is not possible on site, emptying the tank into nature is not allowed.

Laitse Graniitvilla tap water is high-quality borehole water and is perfectly suitable for drinking. At the festival site, You can get clean drinking water from the taps behind the big tent in the outdoor area. If You stay in a tent, You can wash your teeth and hands right behind the big tent.

NB! Please also fill your drink bottle from the tap just behind the big tent (not in the inner WC) so we reduce queues for the WC and the WC floor stays drier. The SPA area of the festival has various saunas and swimming pools, as well as outdoor showers with cold water for washing.

The availability of hot water is limited to certain times of the day, when we distribute hot water with a bucket in the spa area. There is a 2-person shower inside the building, which can only be used as a shared shower, it is not allowed to lock the shower room in order to have access to everyone.

Those staying in the rooms have a shower with warm water and a toilet.

In addition to the toilets located in the buildings, the festival site has 8 outdoor toilets and 2 sets of urinals, which are emptied and cleaned regularly. In the shade of the night, You can also go to the bushes in case of minor trouble, no one will mind, but please don’t empty yourself in the middle of the camping area.

Program and catering

Be careful, this is Tantra, it can change your whole life!

The Tantra Festival gives You 4 memorable days for the rest of your life, which can have such a powerful effect that You decide to turn a new page in your whole life. You can come to the Tantra festival alone, with a friend, with your old or new life partner or spouse, or even with a whole group of friends.

At previous festivals, about 40% of the participants have been couples and about 60% have been single. Our youngest guests have been 18 years old, and the most senior have crossed the 80-year mark. The number of foreigners has increased with each festival, being about 30% of the participants.

The Tantra Festival gives You the opportunity to participate in the workshops and lectures of various teachers from Estonia and abroad, in order to enjoy, experience and feel whether and who is the one whose teachings resonate with you. Tantra Festival has more than 30 different workshops, rituals and co-creations. All workshops have an Estonian-English translation.

There are 3 parallel workshops in the program. Workshops take place before breakfast, before lunch and before dinner. Then we start with the evening program which is rather uplifting and relaxing.

Whether we recommend it for a beginner, an advanced person or a couple, is indicated in the Tantra Festival program. Also, it is indicated, whether the workshop may include nudity or intimate touch – beginners workshops usually do not include the former. The labelling is indicative and guides You to find the right workshop for you, but does not limit your choices. You make the decision. The program includes workshops for couples to grow their bond and reignite their passion.

You can participate as a couple, either with your life partner, spouse, or with a new acquaintance found at the festival, with whom You feel safe enough. The program also offers dating opportunities for singles, because where else can You find a wonderful companion, than at the Tantra Festival, where we create an open heart space and value everyone’s uniqueness.

Translation is guaranteed for all workshops so that the these can be listened to in both Estonian and English.

Always and in all workshops, You have freedom of choice for each exercise. Participate and do the exercise only if You feel it is right for you. You can always remain an observer and participate in another exercise if it suits you. Your wellbeing is the most important thing. Respect other people’s choices too. As an adult, everyone takes responsibility for themselves. If You are shy, choose the workshops for beginners first.

We have paid great attention to the evening program with live music, singing along, ecstatic dancing, exciting rituals. We can celebrate together, listen to great music, see uplifting presentations, dance yourself out of breath, even if You are not the “dancer type” at all, take a sauna and most importantly, communicate with wonderful people who have all come for the same purpose – SAY “YES” TO LIFE!

“Every journey begins with the first step”

During the festival, You can experience heightened emotions as well as heavier feelings or disturbing thoughts. Everything about You is right and welcome. Sense and observe yourself, allow yourself to feel, taking the time to do so. Tantra Festival is a safe place to experience all feelings. If You find it challenging to deal with your feelings and thoughts, the Festival also has Soul Keepers, whom You can safely turn to. Don’t leave yourself alone. You can contact the soul keepers at the festival information desk or contact them directly, if You notice them in the festival area.

We do not tolerate the use of psychoactive substances during and on the festival grounds. Please refrain from consuming any mind altering substances in any way for the duration of the festival. Among them, we also consider light alcohol, cannabis, rapee, mushrooms, etc. to be mind altering substance. To protect other participants, we ask visitors who consume any kind of substance to leave the festival permanently.

If You notice someone under the influence or using, please let the festival team know.

Catering is included in the price of the festival pass, offering hot meals 3 times a day. The food is mostly vegan, with the addition possibility of butter or honey. The festival food does not include dessert. You can get a sweet bite from the cafes and sales points open at the festival, take cash with You for that. There are 3 breaks of at least 1.5-2 hours throughout the day for eating and socialising. Complimentary hot herbal tea is available throughout the day. Dishes: There are plates and forks in the catering area (machine washable). Please bring your own bottle or large mug for tea and drinking water and label it clearly.

Who should you come to tantra festival with?

You can come to the Tantra festival alone, with a friend, with your old or new life partner or spouse, or even with a whole group of friends. At previous festivals, approximately 40% of people were couples and approximately 60% were single. Our youngest guests have been 18 years old, and the most senior have crossed the 80-year mark. About half of the guests are completely newbies when it comes to tantra, and the other half more or less have some prior experience.

Any kind of development always starts with oneself, self-development does not require the existence of a partner. So is tantra. There are many different dimensions of tantra, including “right hand tantra”, where touch and sexual contact are completely absent. In this branch of tantra, one works with the inner man and the inner woman, or Animus and Anima, within each of us.

Tantra can also be practiced with a person who is not your permanent partner. Keep in mind, that Tantra does not equal sexual practices or sex, as is sometimes mistakenly believed. There are many practices in Tantra without direct physical contact, but still between two people. Even a simple presence or hand holding practice, can lead to very, very deep self-transformation.

The working principle of Tantra is based on polarities, i.e. the more masculine a man is and the more feminine a woman is, the greater the energy between them. You’ve probably even experienced or seen it on the cinema screen yourself. The same polarity difference exists in gay couples, otherwise the couple would never have gotten together, nor would the couples have attracted each other’s attention. All Tantra practices can also be done freely with a same-sex partner (even if You are not gay), emphasising the inner woman and the inner man.

So it doesn’t matter, whether You are straight or gay or identify yourself in some other way, Tantra works for You in any case. Come and try it. Even if You simply don’t want or dare to do some practice with a representative of the opposite sex, You can do it freely with someone of your own sex. The most important thing is, that You feel yourself good, then You will be able to focus and the magic of selfdevelopment can happen.

Sex and nudity at the festival

Tantra does not mean nudity. The naked human body is a beautiful and admirable creation of God, and if You feel good naked, then there is nothing wrong with nudity. At the Tantra Festival, You can meet naked people sunbathing, relaxing in the sauna, dancing or just enjoying the day. In the same way, You will also meet people in full clothes. It’s up to You to decide, how You feel good and act that way. No one will force You to get naked or look strange when You walk around fully clothed. It is important to respect everyone’s choices, starting with your own.

Suggested nudity may occur in some workshops (then it is written in the program), but it is not forbidden to participate in clothes there either. When we shed our clothes, we also shed our cultural and social attitudes and masks behind which we hide. It is a well-known fact, that “everyone is equal in the sauna”. We also get access to the largest human organ, the skin. However, the skin is known to be an organ of the heart center. Bare skin and the presence in the touch, have a wonderful healing and recharging power. But everything when You are ready for it!

If suggested nudity is expected in some workshops, this workshop is marked accordingly in the program. If, however, You have ended up in such a workshop and do not want to go along with the nudity, it is your right and duty to listen to yourself and not do it. No one is forcing You to do this, please don’t force yourself to do this either. You can always participate in clothes or choose the role of a spectator.

The festival is for adults and everyone decides for themselves if, when and with whom they have sex. Take responsibility regardless of gender and situation! Make sure repeatedly that everything You do is strictly the firm wish and will of both parties, and that this wish and will has also been clearly and verbally expressed!

The principle of the festival is that NO is NO, YES is YES and doubts: maybe, I don’t know – means NO.

The festival organiser does not make any rules regarding sex and does not take the role of the sex police in terms of place, time or poses ;D.

Also be aware that both You and your partner may behave a little differently than in some usual situations due to the heightened mood of the festival. Follow your own boundaries and respect those of others!

If You are familiar with Brahmacharya, we ask that You cultivate Brahmacharya at the festival (the man should avoid ejaculation and the woman outward directed orgasms that drain the energy) to avoid wasting energy and keep the festival high in vibration.

Other important information (payments, first aid, photographer)

Cash is king! Take cash with You for the final redemption of the ticket and for shopping at the festival bazaar (jewellery, clothes, sweets, smoothies, energy items, etc.) and to pay for the services of the healers (massage, etc.).

You cannot pay by card at the festival, and the nearest ATM is 20 kilometres away in Keila. Sorry.

Please leave your phone and camera turned off in the car, so You could focus on what’s happening at the festival and on the connection with yourself and with other wonderful attendees. This ensures that no one is accidentally caught in front of a smartphone camera. In addition, You reduce the electromagnetic pollution of the surroundings and create a supportive environment for all of us to develop. Photography is not allowed at the festival, except for the official photographer of the festival to a limited extent.

The festival has 1 official photographer who takes pictures of the general mood during breaks and concerts and does NOT take pictures in the workshops. If You do not want to be in front of the official photographer’s camera, please let him know on the spot and we will do our best to ensure your privacy. On two evenings, a photo wall will be open, where the festival photographer will take a photo of You and your friends per request.

In case of simple medical concerns, You can find first aid supplies at the information desk in the festival area.

During the entire festival, a paramedic will be on site to provide first aid if necessary. To find a paramedic, please contact the festival information desk. Paramedic services are free, feel free to contact us.

In case of more serious trouble, announce the need for help loudly, contact the festival information desk or the nearest team member, who will find a paramedic and call the emergency number 112.

Have a safe festival!

Tantra

Tantra is an ancient spiritual system that originated in Tibet and Kashmir, then spread to India, laying dormant for a long time, and then slowly began to infiltrate the Western world.

Tantra is also one of the many branches of Yoga, so the goals of Tantra are the same as for most branches of Yoga, being connection with the higher self – enlightenment.

Tantra in Sanskrit means to connect, join, integrate or weave into a fabric. Thus, the goal of Tantra is primarily to unite one’s body, mind and soul and thereby find divinity and enlightenment through oneself.

When You have found divinity in yourself, You will also see divinity in other people and everything else around us. Although ancient Tantra is mediated by today’s tantric sacred texts, or Agamas, they must be viewed primarily as philosophical and technical guides, not as scriptures.

The tantric journey means seeking truth and divinity from within, not from books and outside. Tantra is a lifestyle and a philosophy of life, it can be lived in every moment, so Tantra is a way of thinking and an attitude, a conscious way of living, the highest goal of which is enlightenment.

Tantra is a sub-branch of Yoga, and thus both the goals of Tantra and some of the techniques are similar to other branches of Yoga. Tantra is distinguished from other branches of Yoga by the conscious use of sexual energy. At the same time, sexual energy is used very clearly and purposefully for the spiritual development of
oneself, to bring positive life changes, abundance, healing, etc. to ones life.

The concept of sexual energy is much more subtle and refined in Tantra than in the everyday concept. Working with sexual energy begins primarily with selfobservation, noticing and presence. Tantric practice is not always related to either the opposite sex or sexual contact. Only a small part of tantric practices includes sexual contact, and this contact is for those who understand tantric philosophy and know how to consciously direct sexual energy within themselves.

By allowing sexual energy to wake up and grow and accumulate without ejaculating it out and wasting it, rather directing it to higher energy centres, every man and woman becomes full of energy, shining, charming and most importantly – they become interested in their own spiritual growth. Thus, from the starting point of Tantra, it can be said that the greater your sexual energy, the stronger your potential for spiritual growth. Of course, this is only as long as You direct your sexual energy to spiritual growth, and don’t just waste it. Everything You pay attention to, gets energy, both in your relationship, with family and business, sporting achievements and your spiritual journey.

Tantra is a life-affirming path of spiritual development, here You don’t set strong limits for yourself and don’t follow dogmas. Anything that can help You on your way is right, as long as it does not harm You or others around you. So You don’t have to give up anything in your life by living according to Tantra philosophies.

Tantra gives You the opportunity and the necessary techniques to live your life to the fullest, in awareness, attentiveness and presence. Helps You to be full of energy and joy of life, to enjoy yourself and your companions, while growing mightily in spirituality.

“What is here, is everywhere, what is not here, is nowhere.” Unknown Master

It depends on what You want from your life and what your life goals are.

The basis of any kind of management is goal setting, as well as in your life – if there is no goal, then You don’t know where to run, walk or crawl towards. Whether or not Tantra suits You at the moment depends on your previous life experience, especially on your attitude towards life and your decision. However, it is clear that You will never know if You don’t try.

The Estonian Tantra Festival creates an opportunity for You to try and experience it safely. It is often much easier for women to embark on the path of Tantra than for men, as women are often less prejudiced and more receptive to new ideas than men. You can be sure that nothing will be forced on you, but You can decide to try
and experiment.

At the festival, You can certainly count on the fact that You will not be obliged to participate or do anything that You have doubts about at any exercise, workshop or practice. If at any moment You feel the need to take a break or withdraw, it is completely your freedom. Your decisions are accepted. Tantra gives You the opportunity to learn to feel your limits and boundaries and express them safely. Tantra can be very healing for body, mind and soul, it can help remove various negative patterns, experiences and blockages. At the same time, nothing can and must not be done by force, You must feel that You are ready for it. The classics have said: “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

The Estonian Tantra Festival is a great opportunity to find out if Tantra is for you, and if You are ready, maybe your teacher will also appear.

In Tantra, You can use any techniques and methods as long as it advances You on the path of spiritual development and does not harm You or others. The central idea of Tantra is to generate energy (including sexual energy) and raise it from the lower energy centres to the upper ones (sublimation), i.e. to awaken the mythical Kundalini Shakti.

To do this, You must be able to sense and manage energies. This is exactly what Tantra practices teach – to feel, generate and manage energy. Thus, Tantra includes energy and body work and work with your mind.
Tantric practices can take many different forms: meditation, bodywork, yoga, journeying, purification techniques, ritual, breathing techniques, sharing circle, dance, sexual practices, and much more. Important is, that the technique uses tantric principles to channel energy.

Tantra is experiential, its effects cannot be discovered without experience. The main thing is to be open-minded, without prejudices, without expectations and participate. If You already perceive, feel, can direct energies in yourself, are able to notice and calm your mind and be present, then You can take the next big step and experience couple exercises.

It often happens that a 10-minute practice of gazing into the eyes without any physical contact can take You deeper into personal cleansing processes or heightened state, than You have experienced in your entire life. From here, the way forward only leads deeper…

Take part in the workshop and do the practices only if You feel that it is right for You. If You feel that something is not for You or something bothers you, don’t let the group drag You along. As an adult, everyone takes responsibility for themselves.

Both for You and for others, only a clear “yes” means “yes”. “No” is “no” and “maybe” is also “no” and “a little” is also “no”.

If You decide to say yes to everything, do it to the fullest and enjoy it. If someone tells You “no” or “maybe” or “a little”, take it as a clear “no”. Respect your own and others’ decisions and remember that You and everyone else have the right to change your decision at any moment. Everything is based on respect for each other and ourselves.

…. Something else of interest

Tantra Festivals have been organised in Estonia since 2013. In different years, different people participated in the organising team, so every year the festival has had a slightly different look, just as each organiser has his own vision of the world.

Just as we have learned and developed and increase the demands on ourself and others, the Tantra Festival has been getting better and better every year. Now and in the future, we will do our best to keep Tantra Festival even more on a spiritual journey, ensuring that the workshops are coherent and interwoven.

Based primarily on tantric philosophy, we create the whole Festival in connection with the the heart, offering You an experience that is uplifting and memorable.

This certainly does not mean that there is no fun, laughter and enjoyment at the Tantra Festival, on the contrary – the festival is completely life celebrating and invites You to enjoy and love life. We give the celebration of life a tantric dimension – to live in awareness and raise the celebration of life to the level of heart and above, with the help of tantric techniques.

Let’s grow together in the connection with our hearts!

Say “YES” to life.
You are one step away from a festival, that can change your life.

Payment for Estonian Tantra festival tickets is made in two parts. You pay 50% when buying a ticket and 50% in cash when You come to the festival.
